I’m Barry, the creator of Barry Quilts. I discovered quilting after retirement and quickly found that I loved the combination of creativity, problem-solving, and working with my hands.
My background is a little different from what you might expect in the quilting world. I spent my working years as an electrician, and after retiring I wanted something creative that would keep me learning and making things. Quilting became that outlet.
Barry Quilts started as a way to share what I was learning, the projects I was making, and the techniques that helped me along the way. My goal is to make quilting feel approachable, especially for beginners. I enjoy showing the entire process—the good parts, the mistakes, and the lessons learned along the way.
On the Barry Quilts YouTube channel and here on the website, you’ll find quilting tutorials, project ideas, helpful charts and downloads, product recommendations, and plenty of practical tips.
I also enjoy traveling, car shows, and spending time working on new ideas and projects. Retirement has given me the freedom to explore the things I enjoy, and quilting has become a big part of that.
