Let’s build our quilt one brick at a time! Join me for Block 2 of our 25-block sew along: the Brick Wall quilt block.
This beginner-friendly block uses simple rectangles and squares arranged in six staggered rows. We’ll practice accurate ¼-inch seams, gentle pressing, and keeping the outside edges aligned. The offset seams create that classic brick-wall look—there are no vertical seam intersections to match between rows!
My version features turquoise, white, and coral, but choose colors you love or try fabrics from your scrap basket.
✂️ Block size: 12½″ × 12½″ unfinished; 12″ × 12″ finished
🪡 Skills: Straight seams, arranging offset rows, and consistent seam allowances
🧱 Pieces: 15 full bricks and 6 half-brick end squares
Grab your fabric and sew along with me as we make the second of our 25 blocks. Share your progress and tell me which colors you’re using!
